There is nothing made up about why I chose to call our ministry–I Am Proof. When you think about your son or daughter and think all hope is gone, I want you to remember The Richard Gomez Story because I am proof that God can do anything. I am not special–I'm loved by Father God, and so are you. 

I was born and raised in a family where crime was all I knew, and it was a way of life. Family pictures on the wall were filled with members living out their lives in prison–orange suits were what was expected. There was no talk of God, Jesus, the Bible, or church. Running drugs, leading gangs, shooting those who crossed the line, and committing acts of violence was the life I knew. Until I met Joanna, and my life took a turn. Joanna wasn't saved yet, but our daughter needed a safe home to live in. My life of violent crime was anything but safe, and I knew it. Our third child, Sophia, is when everything changed. Joanna died giving birth, and Sophia was not expected to live.
